Direct Debit Donor Programme (DDDP) FAQ | WWF Malaysia

Direct Debit Donor Programme (DDDP) FAQ

Q1: What is the WWF Direct Debit Donor Programme (DDDP)?
A: DDDP is a donation programme specially designed for members of the public who are interested in supporting WWF-Malaysia’s nature conservation work on a monthly, 4-monthly or yearly basis. Conservation needs to be long term to be effective. As WWF-Malaysia is a non-profit organisation that does not receive any fixed grants, we need regular donations to continue protecting Malaysia’s endangered species and spaces.
A donor may choose any of the following options;
  • Monthly donation of RM50, RM75 or 100
  • 4-monthly donation of RM200, RM300 or RM400
  • Yearly donation of RM600, RM900 or RM1200
*Both 4-monthly and yearly work out to exactly the same amount as RM50, RM75 or RM100 per month respectively.

Q2: How does WWF promote the DDDP?
A. DDDP is promoted face-to-face, an easily accessible and friendly method of giving members of the public a chance to find out more about WWF’s conservation work. DDDP is promoted at various places including events, shopping malls and residential areas in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor and other states. The face-to-face approach makes it easier for those who do not have the opportunity to contribute through other channels, such as visiting our office and website or calling us, to express their support.

Q3: Which parties are involved in this DDDP?
A: There are 3 parties: WWF-Malaysia, Supportworks, a brand of Salesworks Sdn. Bhd. and SG Support Services Sdn Bhd.

We have engaged Salesworks Sdn Bhd, a reputable international marketing company which promotes this programme by sending small teams of trained fundraisers known as WWF representatives to promote the DDDP at popular venues in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor and other states.

SG Support Services Sdn Bhd helps us to manage this programme's administrative work.

Q4: How can I make a monthly, 4-monthly or yearly donation to WWF?
A: 2 methods: Through credit card, debit card or via auto-debit from a CIMB / Maybank (MBB) / RHB bank account.

(Note: WWF representatives are not authorized to accept cash donations.  Donation method via cheque ONLY when the donor prefers NOT to donate through the above payment methods).

Q5: Why does the programme only have monthly, 4-monthly and yearly donation schemes?
A: As WWF is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation that depends on public donations, our conservation work is largely funded by good hearted individuals like you. We need consistent funding to enable us to plan our conservation work and continue protecting Malaysia’s natural beauty. Your generosity and regular donations will help WWF carry out long-term programmes aimed at protecting, and leaving future generations, a living planet.

Q6: Why doesn’t WWF use its own staff for DDDP?
A: As much as we would like to, we are unable to bear the considerable cost of setting up a team large enough to manage and carry out the DDDP. That is why we are partnering with a market leader like Salesworks Sdn. Bhd. that specializes in face-to-face marketing. This partnership enables WWF-Malaysia to save costs and channel much more of your valuable donations directly to our conservation programmes.

Q7: Why doesn’t WWF use volunteers?
A. Face-to-face fundraising is a regular, professional job that requires long-term commitment, hard work and specific skills. All WWF representatives undergo intensive training by WWF and Supportworks, before they begin work. While we sincerely thank our volunteers for playing a valuable role in specific fundraising activities, their commitments outside the time that they generously donate to WWF mean that they are not the ideal candidates for this particular type of programme.

Q8: Does Salesworks get a commission from my donation?
A: No, Salesworks does not. Salesworks receives a single, one time fixed fee from WWF’s pre-allocated fundraising budget. Your donations are received directly by WWF-Malaysia.

Q9: What happens to the funds raised?
A. The funds raised are used by WWF to carry out scientific fieldwork, environmental education, policy work with the government and community programmes that aid nature conservation.

Q10: How do I know the authenticity of the representative?
A. All our representatives are required to carry their ID badge and you can also contact the WWF-Malaysia team directly via email at or call our hotline 1-300-88-99369 for further verification by providing us with the full name and phone number of the representative you wish to verify.

Q11: I have some feedback regarding a WWF representative. What should I do?
A. We are always striving to improve so we would really appreciate it if you could contact us directly (WWF contact details as below) with your feedback regarding our representatives.  To enable us to better attend to your feedback, please also provide us with the following information where possible:
a. Name of representative
b. Date and location of encounter with our representative

Q12: How do I cancel / stop my monthly, 4-monthly or yearly donation to WWF?
A. Every ringgit is crucial to carry out our conservation work and we hope we continue to merit your kind support. However, should you ever need to discontinue your donation, all you have to do is provide us with a 30-day written notice before your next deduction date. If you are unable to carry on with your financial support to WWF, please contact us so that we may advise you further on how you could continue to help us in our quest to conserve.
